Two Big Events Today!

The program at 5:00 p.m. is about how phosphorus gets into the lake, by a UVM expert on Phosphorus. There will be a second and third presentation (all different) and exhibitors in the Town Hall too! Franklin Dairy Farmer Mike Benjamin will have his newest equipment, a manure injector, set up north of the church for folks to see how it works. When Larry Myott got back from Florida in early May, the Benjamins were preparing to plant corn, two days later they were injecting manure on the Hammond Farm. This is a great adaptation of technology in the modern farming era. All over the area the technology has been improving farming and water quality. Although most campers aren't very interested in "manure spreading," we are all affected by it in many ways. Come to the Franklin Watershed Annual Meeting and learn how you can be a part of the environmental planning at Lake Carmi.

Also beginning at 5:00 p.m. is the Franklin United Church's Chicken Pie Supper with two settings, 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. This is a great one for everyone. Hopefully, they have enough because it's my favorite. All details are here, see you there.
